Hi. We’re VerdanaBold, a presentation design, storytelling, and training agency that’s (currently) located in our own homes in Chicago. Our team is growing, and now we are looking for an exceptionally creative-minded person to help us tell the next chapter of our story.
We’re searching for a Graphic Designer who’s ready to take a direct role in every aspect of design, from shaping creative briefs to concepting to crafting exceptional work. You’ll be challenged to expand your skill set, develop your capabilities, and grow alongside the business.
While our primary work is presentation design, for this role you’ll also be focused on things like social media and digital design, branding and logo work, and the occasional print or web project. Strong creative/conceptual thinking is just as important as sharp design skills, so be ready to brainstorm.
You’ll also be helping us with our presentation design work, but it’s not essential that you have experience in this field or expertise with PowerPoint. If you thrived during pitches, or ever imagined yourself on the stage at TED, this will be a great opportunity to learn the skill of crafting presentations. If you only want to work in InDesign and aren’t interested in the idea of presentations, this isn’t the job for you.
This is a traditional role for non-traditional people. It’s a job for a big-picture thinker who wants to flex their creative muscles. It’s an opportunity for someone who wants to be a leader, not someone who wants to be told what to do. And it’s a chance to make your mark and grow alongside our team.
Qualifications
You’ll need 3-6 years of experience in an agency/marketing/design setting. And while that is a broad range, it highlights the fact that this role is about finding the right person more than the right resume. An online portfolio is the best way to share your work with us.
You should be proficient-to-advanced in Adobe Creative Suite. We specialize in presentation design, so you’ll need to become familiar with PowerPoint, but it’s ok if you aren’t an expert yet.
Other pluses include an understanding of digital platforms, the ability to work independently in a remote environment, and a good eye for memes to post in Slack.
